Having a garden can be perfect especially if you have children who love spending time outdoors.
You will probably find that especially during the summer months, your garden becomes a bit of a child’s playground and it is very quick for a garden to become filled up with slides, swings, trampolines and paddling pools. This may give your children plenty to do on the warm summer days but it can take a toll on your garden.
Not only may it affect the growth of the grass, often killing off areas that cannot get the sun or get trampled on a lot, but it can make maintaining it hard work.
If the grass has been killed it can take months to get it to grow back and often it may not grow back fully until the next year. You may want to have a designated area that is for play equipment and possible remove the grass and put down bark or you may decide to move the equipment round every week to try and give the grass time to recover. Mowing the garden can become hard work if you are having to mow round play equipment, having a designated area will make this issue a thing of the past.
Don’t forget during the summer months your garden may need to be watered if the days have been dry and there has been little rain fall.
